Monday 22nd June

Don't know why, but this month seems to be going very slowly - might be something to do with waiting for pay day to arrive (this Friday), and the contract details for the house I'm buying (possibly in the next week or 2)!

Last weekend was lovely, I managed to sit outside and stitch the whole day on Sunday - bliss! Then I had a very stressful morning last Monday when I found out the Royal Mail had 'lost' the divorce papers being returned to the court from him. The court staff were asking me why I was asking them to resend the papers (as opposed to him doing it - lol!), and couldn't seem to understand my explanations. Then I hear from someone on the stitch and craft forum, who told me the freebie item I sent her didn't arrive in the post either - what is it with the Royal Mail? I shouldn't have to pay extra just to make sure it actually gets to where I want it to go! That's about 6 items lost in the mail in the last 2 months.

I was on late shifts last week, not bad. We managed to get our first rest break of the week (4 shifts)! on Saturday and was late off for 3 of them too - but we didn't actually do very much. I managed to 'cure' someone just by examining her properly - lol - and left her farting like a trooper, but no more pain! We had to drive 7 miles just to get to her. I didn't have anyone who was seriously ill, but I did have a lady that fell and hurt her leg, she was in agony and we couldn't work out why. Tons of morphine didn't seem to help much either!

I've now got the joy of working 4 x 12 hour early shifts in hot weather - it's forecast to hit 26 degrees this week. But it's been flipping cloudy all day today and due to rain on the weekend when I'm off again - typical!

Went to the gym today for the first time in about 2 years! Well I only did about 30 minutes as I didn't want to be too sore for work tomorrow. Got to try and increase my exercise levels because my blood pressure seems to like being rather high lately - and been told off by the Docs, ooops!

I've managed to do a little bit of stitching lately, finished stitching 2 cards and started another one. I'm going to try and concentrate on my 2 major WIP's for a couple of weeks before starting any more - I've got loads that I want to do and Christmas will be here before we know it!

I had better get on with cleaning, ironing, etc. so that I can sit down and enjoy the evening.

'Tis the weekend!

I've spend the last 2 days at the hospital doing some of my placement stuff, most of it I have been in the medical GP unit - an offshoot from A&E. What a lovely bunch up there, not one person has looked at my uniform and turned away - even the patients are really nice! Civilisation! Managed to get some stuff signed off, and helped out a little too. But overall it was really nice being with and chatting to such a friendly bunch. I know a little bit more about what they have to do, and how. I've managed to arrange some more time for next week and hopefully will get to see and treat some minor injuries then.

I've also managed to finish off to stitching projects this weekend, a bookmark for my Grandma and an item for an exchange on the stitch and craft forum. I then started on a card for someone else.

I am now going to take the luxury of enjoying the whole weekend for a change, and hopefully the sunshine will find me too!

Tuesday 9th June

Wow! what a great shift I had on Sunday night, 12 hours and only 1 call! And that one only really needed some TLC. If only all shifts were like that! I've been 'faffing' around since, doing bits and pieces, appointments and sorting my portfolio out. Also, I have finally managed to get my placements organised and I start on Thursday morning - at last!

I spoke to my solicitors about my house sale today, and it is looking good. They are just waiting for the estate agents to pass on the HIP details, then the contracts should be sorted out. Hopefully completion could occur in about a month.

Well I had better get on with sorting my portfolio out as I still have a long way to go!

Hello

I have decided to create a blog after being encouraged by Claire's and Emma's blogs, and to share my activity at the moment. I have so much going on that it would be good to put it into writing!

I have just finished a set of nights at work, mostly a nice week - except for the last patient who decided to spit everywhere and damage the trolley bed! I'm doing some overtime tonight on one of the cars, so should be reasonable. Apart from that I've got nearly 2 weeks off work! I was supposed to be trying to do some hospital placements, but the hospital keep coming up with more things to check before they will let me - bureaucracy!!

I am also in the process of buying a house, a lovely little one bedroom with a small garden, in a nice little peaceful cul-de-sac - can't wait to move in. At the moment I'm only waiting on the solicitors to get their stuff done and hopefully contracts will start being signed. I'll have a lot to do when I get the house as it is in a bit of a mess - sticky carpets, filthy curtains/walls/ceilings etc. Still I should be able to generate a small army of helpers from work to get it cleaned up - bribed with a BBQ probably. Then I'll have to decorate, and lay flooring in the lounge. I may even have to sort the kitchen out too - need to have a closer look before I decide that one!
I have also filed for a divorce and I'm currently waiting for the first lot of papers to arrive back from the court - it's amazing the amount of different forms it all takes, and I confused as to which one I am actually waiting for!

I am waiting for the divorce to complete before I can apply for my Canadian citizenship certificate, another application that needs lots of paperwork and attention!

I also have lots of cross stitch projects, either on the go already or needing to be started. But I don't have much of a stitchy bug at the moment. Although I have managed to finish 3 projects that I started ages ago - bit late but never mind. A bookmark for my Grandma (her birthday was in April!), A blue tit for my mother-in-law (her birthday was a couple of weeks ago), and something for an exchange on the stitchandcraft forum. I've just got to make them up into their finished projects and I might actually get them to the appropriate people.

I'm sure that I have more things on the go, but I can't remember at the moment so I'll post them later if I remember.

I had better go and get dressed! See you later!
